Can't beat the price! They're very welcoming, and they have amazing breakfast and lunch menus. I tell all of my Kentucky family about this place. And I enjoy bringing my Kentucky family to this place when they come up. Don't second-guess it; give it a shot. You'll love it.
Double cheeseburgers were excellent. Service was fast and outstanding. Ambiance is straight out of 1957. No, seriously. This diner is a Time Machine.
They are only opened for breakfast and lunch. Downtown Washington my husband remembered a friend bringing a bag of these burgers to a car show and remembered them as being really good.There was 6 of us that went. When we went in, we went to the back and sat down. Our waitress, came right away and said no lettuce,tomato,salad or cottage cheese. We have been so busy today.we ran out. That's fine. We're here for the cheeseburgers. She was awesome. Don't remember her name, but she was good on quick back responses. The hamburgers are cooked with chopped onions. They are so good. They have a good flavor. They're not huge but also they're not expensive. They have German fries so I asked what they were. She told me they were potatoes cooked, and onions. That sounds good. Give me one. They were the best potatoes I've ever ate. They were real soft like a boiled potato fried with the crust on the outside cooked on the grill with onions. On the back wall is a picture of Wimpy from Popeye cartoons saying I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. So on our next trip we will definitely eat at the New White Steamer.

This is a great little hole in the wall. The hamburgers are excellent! The service is always friendly and quick. Their choices and potato sides are great. But their hamburgers are one of the best I've ever eaten in my entire life.
Yesterday, my wife was craving a burger from one of our long-time local diners, The White Steamer. Nothing like walking down main, and as you approach the front door you are greeted with the almost heavenly scent of beef patties as they surrender themselves to the griddle in their last act in the circle of life. The smell was so strong and so rich that a vegan would probably have gone into anaphylactic shock just breathing it in. It was packed as I entered, placed my order, and was told it would be a few minutes for it to come up. No worries, as I ordered a Coke and passed my time surfing the net on my phone while also watching the griddle cook masterfully change the balls of beef into handmade masterpieces to be topped with an assortment of toppings such as fried onions and fresh vegetables. As I watched the sandwiches being delivered to the waiting tables, I couldn't help but feel sorry for all the vegans in the world....

The New White Steamer is a quaint, hole-in-the-wall type of place, but home of mouthwatering burgers and fries. It's the type of place were the locals go to catch up with one another, a kind of place where everyone knows everyone. My wife and I stopped by for our first time on a Saturday afternoon and thankfully were able to find space along the bar. Our server was awesome - she was polite and had a smile on her face. I ordered two Cheeseburgers (lettuce, tomato and mayo) and French Fries. My wife also ordered a Cheeseburger and French Fries. The wait time wasn't too bad, considering the number of customers and phone orders they had. Our food tasted great! The burgers were fresh and juicy, and the fries were hot and crispy. All the ingredients tasted great and left us with zero complaints! I really appreciated the small town vibe The New White Steamer offered and thoroughly enjoyed the food! Highly recommend if you're in the area!
